Building on a dialogue sparked in 2020 with the release of the Chuck Taylor All Star Lugged, A-COLD-WALL* and Converse unveil the Chuck Taylor 70. Echoing the shoe’s casual design, two loungewear jersey pieces are offered, each emphasising key features of the Chuck Taylor Icon.

Documenting stories and practices of such artisans, Founding Director of design firm Food New York, architect Dong-Ping Wong, and award-winning industrial designer Nifemi Marcus-Bello. Both artists, masters in their chosen fields, introspectively examine what an icon means to them. Captured in their studio environments, New York and Lagos, respectively, a mutual school of thought emerges.

At the genesis of this collaboration, Founder and Artistic Director Dr Samuel Ross looks to his peers; exemplary artists and thought-leaders in the global community. What followed is an ode to the pursuit of creative expression, refined items designed to form an integral component within the artist’s uniform.
